Telecom


India is the world’s second-largest telecommunications market. The telecom infrastructure in India is expected to increase at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 20 per cent during the period 2008–2015 to reach 571,000 towers in 2015.

“India is a place for investment and innovation for Vodafone. India is one of the two biggest markets for us along with Germany. The company is investing nearly US$ 3 billion over the next two years in India in expanding its network infrastructure and distribution channel in the country,” according to Mr Vittorio Colao, CEO, Vodafone Plc.

India could emerge as a low-cost hub for testing security-sensitive IT products used in telephone and other critical infrastructure networks, with the country being recently given the 'authorising member nation' status in the Common Criteria Recognition Arrangement (CCRA). Laboratories in India could offer testing services at much lower costs compared to other CCRA labs in Western markets, highlighted Mr Rajan Mathews, Director General, COAI – the industry body representing GSM operators.

India has over 50 per cent mobile-only internet users, possibly the world’s highest compared to 20–25 per cent across developed countries, according to Avendus Capital.Increasing demand for smart phones and availability of high speed networks, such as 3G and 4G services, has resulted in the rapid growth of the Indian market, besides offering immense opportunities to players involved in the business.

HVAC

HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) is the technology of indoor and vehicular environmental comfort. HVAC system design is a sub discipline of mechanical engineering, based on the principles of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer. Refrigeration is sometimes added to the field's abbreviation as HVAC&R or HVACR, or ventilating is dropped as in HACR (such as the designation of HACR-rated circuit breakers).

The invention of the components of HVAC systems went hand-in-hand with the industrial revolution, and new methods of modernization, higher efficiency, and system control are constantly introduced by companies and inventors worldwide. The three central functions of heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning are interrelated, especially with the need to provide thermal comfort and acceptable indoor air quality within reasonable installation, operation, and maintenance costs. HVAC systems can provide ventilation, reduce air infiltration, and maintain pressure relationships between spaces. The means of air delivery and removal from spaces is known as room air distribution.

The starting point in carrying out an estimate both for cooling and heating depends on the exterior climate and interior specified conditions. However before taking up the heat load calculation, it is necessary to find fresh air requirements for each area in detail, as pressurization is an important consideration.

In modern buildings the design, installation, and control systems of these functions are integrated into one or more HVAC systems. For very small buildings, contractors normally capacity engineer and select HVAC systems and equipment. For larger buildings, building services designers and engineers, such as mechanical, architectural, or building services engineers analyze, design, and specify the HVAC systems, and specialty mechanical contractors fabricate and commission them. Building permits and code-compliance inspections of the installations are normally required for all sizes of buildings.

Major appliances are differentiated from small appliances because they are large, difficult to move, and generally fixed in place to some extent. They are often considered fixtures and part of real estate and as such they are often supplied to tenants as part of otherwise unfurnished rental properties. Another frequent characteristic of major appliances is that they may have substantial electricity requirements that necessitate special electrical wiring to supply higher current and/or voltage than standard electrical outlets can deliver.
